The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R is based on the ZX-12 which originally came out in 1998. It was one of the few motorcycles at that time which struck a perfect balance between comfort and performance. The sales number was rising and everything was going for Kawasaki until Suzuki came out of nowhere and launched the Suzuki Hayabusa. The Hayabusa was no different than ZX-12R. It was just that it had more performance on offer and was more suited to tall riders, and ZX 12R was comfortable to all sizes of riders. Then Suzuki conducted the top speed test run for the Hayabusa and BOOM!. It became the Fastest production Motorcycle in the world. Kawasaki was not happy, they also conducted the test run of their Flagship ZX-12R but it just fell short of 4mph in defeating Hayabusa. But Kawasaki was not going to sit and just watch Suzuki Hayabusa declining the sales number of ZX 12R. They worked upon it, re-tuned the engine, which gave it some more horsepower and then in 2006 Kawasaki conducted the Top speed Test and............. ZX 12R defeated the Hayabusa!!!!!. ZX 12R became the world"s fastest Motorcycle but........ The Next Year Suzuki Launched their Hayabusa with Few mechanical updates and again it defeated the ZX 12R. This time Kawasaki was serious about this defeat and started to work on the ZX 12R and They worked and worked and worked till 2012 and This time the ZX 12R had become Bigger, better, had more performance and was faster with a larger 1441cc engine that Churned out 202 Horses and 157 Nm of torque, with the Ram Air intake it pumped 202 Horses which took it to a Top speed of 335+KM/H which was terrific. Suzuki took no step further in updating the Hayabusa and accepted the ZX 14R as the new King. The ZX 14R not only was faster in top speed but it was also faster in the Acceleration Segment. It was 0.3 seconds faster than Hayabusa in reaching the 60mph mark but it all came with a Price Tag;). The ZX 14R is more expensive than the Hayabusa but it's better than the Hayabusa in every term and I would recommend it over Hayabusa a Million Times.
