LAMBORGHINI SC20: JUST ANOTHER MODIFIED AVENTADOR?

Remember, the first time Lamborghini launched a One-off, the Lamborghini SC18 Alston in 2018? Yeah, it was probably the wildest car we had seen for a while after the Aventador, the angles, the curves, everything was just better than what we had seen from Lamborghini.

And then 3 years later, they are trying to do the same thing, but this time, they are planning to throw the ball out of the court with the SC20.

With the first you would think, “Is this a modernized version of the Aventador J?” which btw Lamborghini had unveiled just a few years ago as the roofless version of the Aventador, was one of the coolest cars of its time, just because of a roof delete.

The same is the case with the SC20, but now it’s not just a roof delete and a carried over design, it’s a completely new car, from the design, interior, technology, everything and it has that classic Lamborghini V12 engine which the world is a fan of.

Now, Lamborghini’s road cars have always have had some relation with their Racing cars, but with the SC20, it has been taken to the next level. For example, the aerodynamic side of the SC20 is almost the same as the one we saw on the Essenza scv12.

The SC20 is a car that has been literally shaped by the wind. Each and every piece of the bodywork has been made with carbon fiber, to keep the car as light as possible, also Lamborghini has tried to give the car a bit of a muscular stance with its long and wide proportions. The Carbon fiber wing, which is the highlight of the rear end can be adjusted in 3 positions, low, medium, and high load. The wing set will most likely not affect your road driving, it’s only going to act up when you are on a track doing fast laps.

Even the color on the SC20, Lamborghini says has been made with a different approach, different than the one they use on the Aventador, Huracan, and the Urus and it’s understandable as this is a one-off car, so it must have some one-off things to justify its price.

Lastly, the price, now I have said this before about numerous Lamborghini one-offs, that they really are more or less the same as the road car with just some shiny bits on the outside and a price tag, 10 times the road car it’s based on, for example, the SC20 is more or less a roofless Aventador.

The price is about 7 million dollars, which is more than 10 times the price of an Aventador SVJ, but the Aventador despite being a limited-edition car, isn’t a one-off like the SC20, thus the SC20 will sell for the one-off it is.

It is good to see that Lamborghini is reducing the number of these types of cars that they are launching, it will help solidify the image of the brand, let’s see how good the successor of the Aventador is going to be.

So, everyone, that will be all for this time, I trust you liked this one, if you did, then do share it with your friends and do consider subscribing to Motordrift for more such content in the future.

Till then

Ciao
