HERO IMPULSE: INDIA'S FIRST OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLE

Updated: Aug 31, 2020

Exactly 7 Years Ago, Hero Launched its 1st Proper Off-Road Motorcycle, The Impulse, Tall Beak, Sharp Design, Dual Purpose Tyres, Slim Profile, Compact Design, and Huge Ground Clearance, this was Nicknamed the Road Legal Dirt Motorcycle. This was the Motorcycle made for the people who wanted to take the path less Trodden.

It has a 150cc Engine That Produced around 13 Hp of Power, and around 13 Nm of torque. This Machine is an Absolute Beauty in Off-road Patches, also at 134 Kgs It is very easy to handle and is easy to pull out if it ever gets stuck in off Road.

It Comes with Halogen Lamps which don’t give that of a good throw at night but they do the job pretty well. The Indicators are also Halogen Bulbs and aren’t pleasing visually. Just The tail Light was an LED unit.

The Upright Seating Position and the off-Road Elements Contributed to the Butch Appearance of this Motorcycle. The Front 90 Section and Rear 110 Section MRF Zapper Provided Ample Grip on Road and Of Road as well.

It gets an analog RPM and digital speedometer combination which is directly attached to the front cowl. Along with the usual bells and whistles, the digital section also contains the fuel gauge, trip meter, and a clock for easy reference. Overall, the Instrument cluster has been laid perfectly and it’s easily visible in the day as well as night. Other standard features include electric start, front disc brake and rear swingarm with Nitrox mono suspension.

Power is sent to the Rear Wheel through a Chain Drive and a Five Speed Sequential Transmission. The Really Sad Part Comes here, at 70,000 Rs Ex-Showroom This Motorcycle Was an Absolute Value for Money Product but People Failed to Understand This Motorcycle's Real Potential, or Should I say that Hero Failed to Properly Market and Advertise This Motorcycle?? I don’t know.

It was So underrated at its Time, that after being for 5 years In the Market and Failing to meet the Expected sales Number it had to be Discontinued and today After almost 2 years of its Discontinuation many people have started to realize that what a Wonderful Motorcycle it was and Thus are looking for a 2nd Hand one. All I can say now is that the hero Impulse is Currently an Underrated Motorcycle in the Indian Market.

But there is Good News, Hero MotoCorp has Released its Successor, the Hero Xpulse and I am already seeing it as a Huge Success. It has been Marketed and Advertised Properly and thus we are seeing such great sales numbers.

In a future video, we are sure going to compare the Impulse and the Xpulse, also we will be going over whether the Xpulse is really better than the Impulse or the Impulse is still the OG, stay tuned for the video.

That’s it for this time, I trust you liked it, if you did, then do share it with your friends and do consider subscribing to Motordrift for more such videos in the future.

All the links will be in the description, and please do write your thoughts on this video in the comments below, it would mean a lot.

Till then, Ciao.
