GENESIS GV70: IS IT THE BEST MID-SIZE SUV??

Genesis Motors is the luxury vehicle division of Hyundai from being born in 2004, genesis has come a long way in terms of the cars they make.

They are one of the very few manufacturers whose whole Line-up is Desirable af, their cars are the absolute best in terms of design, luxury, sportiness, and Comfort. This time we are going to be talking about one of their cars which happens to be my favorite car from the Genesis Line-up and that Car is the Genesis GV70.

It’s an SUV that has been made for the enthusiasts, in 2021 there aren’t many cars that focus on driver engagement but not genesis. The GV70 is a Suv that’s been made for you to enjoy on the road and off the road by being comfortable in your seats.

First starting with the external body design-

Genesis says that the GV70 is an SUV with the most Athletic design, it also happens to be Genesis’s first-ever mid-sized SUV.

Another thing that I notice personally in any car is the blending of design elements and those elements are beauty, elegance, and aggressiveness, and Not going to lie I don’t see it many cars, not everyone can blend in these design elements so well but the designers at Genesis certainly Do!

Now if we talk about the engine options that Genesis is providing are the same from the G70 Sedan, first of all, there is a 210 horsepower 2.2-liter diesel engine, then there is the 304 horsepower 2.5-liter turbo petrol engine and finally the most powerful of em all the range-topping 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine that’s going to be producing 385 Horsepower. The Lower two variants will be offered in rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive formats but the range-topping variant will only be available in four-wheel drive.

The GV70’s range-topping version also has a launch control function which will enable to go from 0 to 60 Mph in just 5.1 seconds, fun fact: - A BMW M2 competition does the same in 4.1 seconds and it’s a raw sports car with 26 more horsepower. So, we can appreciate how greatly Genesis has engineered this car. Also, this acceleration number is on par with the fastest mid-size SUV the Porsche Macan S, so it will be interesting to see how the GV70 stacks up against the Macan s when it comes to sales numbers.

Additionally, four-wheel-drive cars gain a “multi-terrain control” system, which brings bespoke driving modes for snowy, sandy, and muddy conditions.

Also, each powertrain has been paired with a sport package, which brings an electronic limited-slip differential for improved handling alongside sports wheel designs, larger exhaust outlets, color-coded rear diffuser, and carbon fiber style interior trim elements.

If we talk about the GV70 as a whole, it’s Hyundai’s 5th global model after the G70, the G80, the G90 sedans, and the larger GV80 SUV, genesis’s parent company which happens to be Hyundai did gave it a thought of bringing in the GV70 to India via the CKD route, it would not only mean lower prices for us Indian consumers, it will also mean that Hyundai will have to pay much fewer taxes when bringing this car to India, and who knows if the sales go great, genesis might even set up one of their manufacturing plants in India and if that happens, which is not possible anytime soon, Volvo India might get a tough competition.

The GV70 will go on sale in other right-hand markets as well, so it won’t be a hectic task for genesis to bring in the Suv to India. So there is a huge possibility for it, and if it comes to India, the cars that it’s going to be competing with are the Audi Q5, the BMW X3, the Mercedes Benz Glc, and the segment king the Porsche Macan!

So that will be all for this time, thank you for giving this a read.
