Hey guys as you all may remember that last time we discussed the car that opens your pathway into the Ferrari Family, the Ferrari Portofino, even though the Portofino is quite practical if used as a two seater, it hasn’t got much space in the back if you have some of your friends along with you, surely they are genuine seats but they would be best suited children’s under 10, above that not so comfortable and Ferrari thought about this and came to a solution. They created a practical Ferrari! A Ferrari that can easily sit 4 Adults in it for long journeys while giving them the same thrill as they would expect from any other Ferrari, the best part about that car is that it’s available with the Halo Italian Ferrari V12. This car might be one of the reasons why living today alive is a blessing, it’s really that good.
I am talking about the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso, not the V8 one, because it’s not exciting enough. The V12 “Practical” Ferrari. The GTC4’s predecessor was the Ferrari FF, the car that really put the practical Ferrari’s on a Pedestal, it was the car that broke lap records while having your children’s seated in the back. Ferrari has been making the V12 four seaters from a very long time and they have mastered it so much so that no one manufacturer has been able to replicate Ferrari. The GTC4 Lusso is in the form of a Shooting brake, a V12 Shooting brake to be precise. It’s the hottest and the most practical shooting brake car available in the market at the moment. The Shooting brake is an essentially a term which has been coined for saloons and hatchbacks that have extended roofline to accommodate more space behind the rear seats. The GTC4 Lusso has a Front-mid mounted 6.3 Litre V12 engine that produces 690Ps or 681 Horsepower and 697 Nm of torque. Redlining of 8,000 RPM, this car is exciting as hell. It has a Dual Clutch automatic gearbox that makes shifting quickly. Performs figures are as mental as you would expect them to be, the GTC4 Lusso has a Acceleration of 0 to 60 in just 3.4 seconds that’s just 0.1 seconds slower than the Pagani Huayra, the top speed remains unchanged at 208 Mph or 335 Kmph. With a weight of 1,790 kg the GTC4 Lusso is heavy but it manages to disguise its weight perfectly. The quad rear exhausts in the rear look so muscular and that sound from the Ferrari V12 is some other worldly stuff, the GTC4 is a car like no other.
The interior is the place where you will spend most of your time so it has to be good and as expected it’s phenomenal. The steering in the car has been derived from the 458 Italia, you have got the same Manettino Switch that helps you switch between your driving modes, you have got that shift light indicator which indicates you when to shift, There is an whole abundance of leather inside the car which makes the Interior more comfy. The seating position is spot on, the infotainment system is okay, not as good as the ones you will find on the German cars but that’s not what you buy this car for. The digital Instrument cluster is really well laid out, and the best part is the centrally laid tachometer and boy o boy it look glorious. The rear is spacious enough to seat and individual of average height. There are comfort features in the rear seat too, the Air vents bless you with a cool breeze, there are cup holders to keep your drinks in place, and there are ports as well to help you charge your phones. The Co-Passenger is one of the best places to sit yourself, the optional Passenger display system allows you to do multiple things including changing the songs and other stuff but the part about is to see the Rev counter. If you have more money than you can add a gorgeous glass roof to your GTC4 Lusso and it is clever enough to keep you warm in winters and Cold in summers. The boot space is good enough to hold some of your luggage. The adaptive suspension allow you to change your ride quality as per the roads.
The GTC4 Lusso is a very interesting car indeed, it’s predominantly All wheel Drive in 1, 2, 3 and 4 gears but in 5, 6 and 7 gears it switches two wheel drive. High speed stability and low speed manoeuvrability is taken care by rear wheel steering. This car is unmatchable, it has no competition, and other manufacturers have tried their respective hands at making a car similar to the GTC4 Lusso, none of them succeeded, only Aston Martin has been able to pull a shooting brake car. The GTC4’s design is timeless, few years later this car would be still be considered as an engineering masterpiece.
That’s it for this time guys
Thank you Ciao
