You must be tired right?? Hearing the same thing again and again, that “there is no driver’s car left in the world”. It is true to some degree because manual transmissions are dying. Forget naturally aspirated, even turbocharged and Supercharged engines are dying at an exponential rate and you know this worries me a Lot. And that’s why I always tend to question myself, Isn’t there any car out there which is lightweight, has a naturally aspirated engine, a manual gearbox, high redline, a great exhaust note and isn’t just about boasting horsepower numbers but actually about the way it drives, ummmmmm Is there any??
Hey, there is, the Porsche 911 GT3, the perfect driver’s car in today’s era. Why would I Say that?? Well remember all the things I said before, it has got all of that, yes all of that. It’s relatively lightweight at just about 1400 Kgs when most of the supercar today are pushing towards the 2-tonne mark. It has a 4.0 liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine, and as desired a 6-speed manual gearbox. And it redlines at not 7000, not 8,000 the redline is 9,000 rpm, proper race car stuff you see. If you remember the words of Mr. Carroll Shelby, he said that the magic point in a Car comes when it passes the 7,000-rpm mark, now just imagine, what heavenly feeling you would be getting at 9,000 rpm, surreal to say the least.
As you might all know, the 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 has just been unveiled and I am so happy again because it still retains all the elements which were in the previous gt3, with the passing of each year, Porsche fans across the world, like me just keeping holding onto their breaths when Porsche says that they are going to be unveiling the new gt3, why?? Because with every passing year, the rules are getting tougher and there isn’t a much longer period than Porsche will be able to keep alive the 911 gt3, but till the time it is alive, let us adore it and enjoy it, while we still can.
